Sing a Song
Sing me a song, oh child of God, sing of His immense.
Sing me a song, oh child of God, about a gift of great expense.
Of Grace not bound, He made the ground for my feet of clay.
Sing to me, oh child of God, speaking of the day
when He will come and call me up, for my sins His blood did pay.
Sing to Him, oh child of God, lifting up your praise.
Sing to Him, oh child of God, be thankful all your days.
Remembering those times before, in darkness and exhaust
of the time when you were lost, your salvation His blood did cost.
Sing to Him, oh child of God, and thank Him for his love.
He will hear you, on His throne, in heaven up above.
Sing it loud, oh child of God, let us hear your voice;
Sing to us of the time you made a faithful choice.
Tell us of the times of old, of blessings and the flood.
Sing it loud, oh child of God, of Christ’s redeeming blood.
Sing your song, oh child of God, of your life’s narrow path;
Tell us of our God who is a God of love and wrath
Sing it loud, oh child of God, of one who watched his world depleting
How you kept the faith and stayed the course, Satan’s plan defeating
Sing to all, oh child of God, shouting out the Word;
Proclaim and share for all to hear, every man and bird.
Sing to all, oh child of God, of the knowing of the Word.
Proclaim it’s there that all may know, our one and faithful God,
Of how helpful it will be, as we tread upon His sod.
Sing to us the Scriptures, from first word to the last.
Tell us how we’re measured by those standards of the past,
Written down so long ago, for all eyes to see.
Sing of how his Love has saved a wretch like you and me.
My song it is not finished, if we live another day.
I’ll serve Christ every moment—I have a debt to pay.
I’ll see my Lord in Heaven, or in clouds up in the sky;
There will be no fear or crying on the day that I will die.
I’ll sing a song in heaven when I soon arrive,
With many friends and loves ones who by his blood survived
a world of sin and hatred, filled with the lost and fools.
We’ll sing and praise our Savior, by Heaven’s gentle pools.
