Time

Before I get into detail, let me ask you this, Christian. Do you have time for God?

This writing is surely going to get into those places where we often fail, and rightfully so.

Allow me to share my thoughts on the subject of conviction. Conviction is the greatest tool of our Christian walk, because conviction shows us where we need improvement, therefore we can dedicate the time to grow and improve in that area.

Do you know that time was created for us in the physical world? God has/had no need for time. He created it for our reference to measure our life and for our understanding of happenings. There will come a time when we have no need for the measure of time also.

Time is actually the currency of life. We were all given an amount determined in Heaven and we can either invest it wisely or waste it in selfishness!

We all understand what happens when we squander our currency and the hardship that brings. We all understand, in a much more dramatic sense, what squandering our Life currency of time brings. An understanding of the differences of using our time wisely or foolishly can be found in the following scriptures.

Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

There are some scriptures in Matthew that also give us wise direction on how we should invest our Life currency of time.

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also.

Time is our Life account and we never know how much is in it. If we love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, we will make our time worthwhile!

There are two quotes that I reflect on often. One is, “If you have time to worry, you have time to pray.” The other is, “If the living knew what the dead know, the entire world would follow Jesus”

Two quotes that put in perspective the proper usage of time.

Many waste time because they have no understanding of the eternal. The concept of them being an immortal being housed in a living vessel somehow cannot be understood or considered.

We are God’s children and He loves us so much He gave us His Son that we might live eternally in Heaven with Him. Sadly, many have no time for God—even the ones who claim to be saved.

As a matter of fact, people often will give their time to almost anything imaginable except God until some great tragedy or loss comes then we run to Him crying out with expectation for God to rush into our situation and solve, heal, or comfort, and He all so often does exactly that! All He wants from us, His children, is our love and time.

I can only imagine that God, our Father in Heaven, gets so very sad that we just won’t give Him any of ourselves. If you have children, imagine if they acted the way many act towards God, or imagine acting towards your parents the way folks do towards God.

Always asking for something, running home every time something goes wrong or crying on their shoulder when you’re sad, but never thanking them for what they do and that they are there for you in your time of need.

I can only believe that God feels the same sadness of us His children when we won’t put forth any effort to know Him or have any sort of loving relationship with Him.

Make time for prayer and converse with God. Read the Bible so you can know Him, and give Him thanks always, because every single breath we take can only happen because of His Grace.

Worshiping, praising, praying, and reading/hearing God’s Word should not be reserved to Sundays, Wednesdays, Christmas, and Easter! We should be in the mindset of God’s love every single day of our Life! That should occupy our Time!
