Cling Tightly to the Word

Why is it so extremely important to KNOW and cling to the Holy Word of God? The Lost are lost, but Scripture tells us very clearly that there is one coming to deceive and turn the hearts and minds of millions of Christians.

It grieves my heart knowing this. There will be a time of a great falling away and then a time of mass deception led by the emissary of Satan himself—the one called the Antichrist. He will be the smoothest talking liar the world has ever known.

Dear Brother and Sister, do you truly understand the Truth of God’s Word? To know it and believe in our hearts we must read it and contemplate it.

The Holy Word must be our refuge, our great shelter in the storm, the one true place of truth and righteousness! If we find ourselves in doubt, run to the Word. If we are unsure, run to the Word.

The point I am attempting to get across is to run to the Word of God first, last, and always! If all things are weighed and measured against the Word then it becomes very difficult to deceive us.

Isn’t Satan the great deceiver? He is the liar in chief and the one who seeks to destroy us through deception and lies. He is the master of confusion and most often it begins with subtle deception and gains momentum as we succumb step by step, little by little, and he is relentless in his endeavors!

How important our soul must be for God to sacrifice His only begotten Son to save it, and Satan to strive so tirelessly to steal it!

As Christians we often fail to see the true importance of the Word, and the lost never do. The Word of God (Holy Bible) is our Ark from the destruction of the world, it is our shelter, our safe place, our ability to know our Father in Heaven, and our armament against evil! Without the Word we would be hopeless and lost, without truth or even just guidance!

We must cling to the Word of God as our most treasured possession. It is in fact our glimpse of our true home and the pitfalls of life here in the flesh. We do not have the advantage of walking in the garden with God every evening to know and converse with God in person as Adam did, so we were given the Word.

This is why John said “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God” The word and prayer are our only means of knowing and conversing with God!

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

Psalm 91:1-7 ESV

The Joy, Peace, and Security of the Word is beyond measure and a necessity in the Life of a mature Christian. The Word of God has power, unimaginable power.

When the Lord was tempted by Satan, Jesus quoted Scripture because it has dominion over evil! If it were not for the Word we would not know of the Armor of God. Our head covered with the Helmet of Salvation (knowing we are saved by Grace gives us hope and courage), protected by the Breastplate of Righteousness (covered by the blood of our Lord Jesus is how we gain righteousness), the Shield of Faith (Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God), our loins girded in Truth (we must have the Word because it is the only Truth).

The Sword of the Spirit (knowledge of God through the Word allows us to wield the power of God against our spiritual enemies) and our feet shod in the Truth of the Word (Truth is our very foundation to stand firm and fight the good fight).

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

If you sense an urgency in my writing you are correct. Having a good understanding of the happenings prior to the Tribulation, you too would feel an urgent need to teach and preach to as many as possible. Folks, there is nothing left to be done, no Prophecy that must be fulfilled before the Catching Up of the Lord’s people. Nothing!

Our Lord will appear in the air and call His people to Him, and then the Tribulation will begin. When we go to the Lord, the Holy Spirit goes with us. This world will be under the full reign of Evil, with no presence of God to curb or restrain the dark forces.

The only trace of God left on this world will be the Bibles that are hidden and read in seclusion. I’m not going to go into a Tribulation teaching here, just believe me when I tell you things are going to be far worse than we can imagine, and there is no knowledge of when it will begin. The Catching Up could honestly happen before you finish reading this or sooner!

Cling to the Word of God and share it with everyone you can.

I pray this will cause you all to seek the knowledge and wisdom in the Holy Word of God! Amen
