Victory or Defeat

Everyone wants to think themselves victorious, but few are victors. Let me explain, no one can live in sin and be a Victor! Oh, you might win a small battle here and there, but the battle alone never wins the war!

We have all heard many old sayings about victory such as: “to the Victor goes the spoils”, “the Victor writes the history”, “Victory or death”, “the habit of persistence is the path to Victory”,

if fighting is to result in Victory, then fight you must”, “Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without Victory, there is no survival”,

Faith is necessary to Victory”, “the first step on the way to Victory is to recognize your enemy”, “after the victory, tighten the cords of your helmet”, “Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum”.

The majority of all these sayings have had a worldly origin, but they also have spiritual connotations!

To Victor goes the spoils.” By repenting of our sins and calling upon the Lord, then the spoils of Heaven will be given us. “The Victor writes the history.”

There will come a time when the past of this world is no more. All knowledge of evil, sorrow, sin, and loss are wiped away and only Paradise will be known. “Victory or death.” To have Victory in Jesus is to live forever in the presence of the Lord; to die in sin is an eternal death in torment. “The habit of persistence is the path to Victory.

We must be persistent in our life for Christ Jesus and repent of our sin that we may obtain eternal Victory. “If fighting is to result in Victory, then fight you must.”

Our fight against evil is not an option, it is in fact a necessity. If we are to succeed, we must fight against evil! “Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.” When it comes to our Victory in the eternal context, we cannot afford to hold anything in reserve.
We must endeavor to persevere no matter what it takes in time, assets, desires, enjoyment, entertainment, etc. It must be all or nothing if we are to survive! “Faith is necessary to Victory.” If we do not have faith in our endeavor, the fight will be long and arduous.

As a matter of fact, we must have faith to become victorious or we will concede defeat before we even get started. “The first step on the way to Victory is to recognize your enemy.

How can we attain victory if we don’t even recognize our true enemy? The Scripture says in Ephesians 6:12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

After the victory, tighten the cords of your helmet.” When we reach victory in an area of our lives, we should prepare for the next engagement. “Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum” (in time of peace, prepare for war).

When things are going well and life is stable, we must prepare and strengthen our faith, pray more, learn more of the Word, and deepen our relationship with our Lord Jesus!

Many never come to the reality that we are in a continuous state of spiritual warfare, but we are. Things have progressed to the point that the devil doesn’t even try to hide any longer.

As I am writing this, the war in Israel is in its 5th day, the atrocities that have been committed by Hamas are pure evil! Sadly, folks in many other places believe they are immune to such things, but the fact is we are not! None of us are; these things can happen at any time in any place, and we must be spiritually strong and prepared at all times.

Psalm 18:2, The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 144:1, Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle.

Psalm 60:12, Through God we shall do valiantly: for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.

We as Christians should never attempt to face our enemy alone. It is only through prayer and supplications to our Lord that we can be Victorious!

The Rapture may happen at any moment—there is no prophecy remaining that must be fulfilled. The possibility exists that this writing may never be read by Christian eyes. Be ready, Brothers and Sisters, be ready!
